    BYD DM-i Hybrid tech debuts in India with 1,200km+ range: Explained

    BYD said DM-i-equipped vehicles can accelerate from 0-100kmph in under 5.5 seconds while delivering fuel consumption of 4.8 litres per 100km under NEDC test conditions. The company also claims the system offers lower noise levels and smoother performance comparable to an electric vehicle. BYD has sold more than 8 million plug-in hybrid vehicles globally and currently accounts for over 35 per cent of the worldwide PHEV market.
