EssilorLuxottica to start smart glasses production in Italy by early 2027

EssilorLuxottica will begin manufacturing smart eyewear in Italy by early 2027. This move is part of a strategic initiative to position Italian plants as innovation hubs. The company partners with Meta Platforms for smart glasses under Ray-Ban and Oakley brands. Currently, flagship Ray-Ban Meta smart glasses are made in Asia.
