    The Karnataka State AIDS Prevention Society reported a rise in active HIV/AIDS cases from 44,581 in 2023-24 to 66,606 in 2025-26, primarily linked to male-to-male s*xual contact. Transmissions are concentrated among youth and corporate workers due to digital dating networks, outbreaks in student hostels, and gaps in risk perception.
