A major political development has emerged from Bihar as Leader of Opposition Tejashwi Yadav has reportedly returned his security cover, following a similar move earlier by former Chief Ministers Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi. The decision comes amid an ongoing dispute over changes in security arrangements provided to the family. According to party sources, Tejashwi Yadav, who was earlier provided Y-category security, has now decided to return his security personnel. This move is being viewed as part of a larger protest by the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) against the recent reduction or alteration in security cover provided to senior members of the family. Earlier, Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rabri Devi had already returned their security personnel, leaving their residence without deployed security staff. Reports also suggest that the security barracks allocated to them have been left vacant following the decision. Party insiders indicate that the RJD leadership is dissatisfied with the government’s decision regarding security arrangements and is considering further steps of protest. Discussions are reportedly underway within the party regarding whether other RJD MPs and MLAs should also return their security cover in solidarity. The development is being seen as a significant escalation in the political tension between the ruling administration and the RJD leadership. Tejashwi Yadav is expected to return to Patna from Delhi shortly, which may further intensify the political discourse around the issue. While the government has not yet issued a detailed response to the latest move, the situation continues to evolve, with both sides maintaining firm positions. Political observers believe the matter could lead to a broader confrontation over security protocols and administrative decisions involving opposition leaders in the state.
