    PV Sindhu’s Australian Open 2026 campaign ended in the semifinals after a 22-20, 21-12 defeat to reigning world champion Akane Yamaguchi in Sydney. The world No. 10 had impressed throughout the tournament, including a dominant quarterfinal win over Chen Su-yu. Despite missing the final, the deep run marked another encouraging result in Sindhu’s resurgent 2026 season.
