The Supreme Court has concluded its hearing in the Twisha Sharma case, which it had taken up on its own (suo motu). The Court emphasized that both parties involved, as well as the general public, should avoid making public statements or engaging in speculation that could affect the investigation. It directed that all statements and evidence should instead be shared only with the investigating agency. The Court also expressed confidence in the CBI, which has been assigned to conduct a fair and impartial probe. The Court further stressed the need to prevent media trials and ensure that the investigation proceeds without external influence. It acknowledged concerns raised about earlier investigative lapses and noted that the case had attracted significant public and media attention, which helped bring key issues to light. Meanwhile, the matter continues in lower courts as well, with a hearing scheduled in the Madhya Pradesh High Court regarding the anticipatory bail plea of an accused relative. The case now moves forward under CBI investigation, marking a critical phase in the legal process.
