India finally gets its own maritime insurance shield amid global shipping risks, says DFS Secretary

India on Tuesday issued the first policy under the Bharat Maritime Insurance Pool, a government-backed mechanism aimed at protecting Indian shipping lines and trade flows from rising geopolitical risks and surging insurance costs linked to the ongoing conflict in West Asia.
