TN CM Vijay proposes Class 12 marks based MBBS admissions, reiterates NEET opposition at NITI Aayog meeting

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C. Joseph Vijay, at the Eleventh Governing Council Meeting of NITI Aayog, reiterated the State’s opposition to NEET for undergraduate medical admissions. The State proposed using Class XII marks as the sole criterion for filling State quota seats in MBBS, BDS and AYUSH courses. It said NEET affects rural and disadvantaged students. The State also outlined its youth-focused development vision, including skill missions, technology training and long-term economic growth targets.
