A severe heatwave is affecting Bihar and several parts of North India, with the India Meteorological Department issuing a yellow alert for 14 districts, including Patna, Ara, and nearby regions. Temperatures are expected to rise up to 45°C, making outdoor conditions dangerous and increasing the risk of heatstroke. Authorities have advised people to avoid going outside between 12 PM and 4 PM unless necessary. The extreme heat has disrupted normal life, with deserted streets and reduced activity in major cities. Meanwhile, similar conditions are being reported across other northern states as the heatwave intensifies. The impact is also visible in zoos, where special arrangements like water sprinklers, coolers, and shaded enclosures have been set up to protect animals from the harsh weather.
