Over the last couple of years, many Indian states and union territories have introduced free or heavily subsidised bus travel for women to make public transport easily accessible and affordable. The main aim of such initiatives is to increase the mobility of women, boost their opportunities in education and employment, ensure safety and strengthen self-reliance.Here is a list of states/UTs that offer free bus travel to women.
