Petrol and diesel prices in India have increased again for the second time in five days, adding pressure on consumers already facing rising inflation. In Delhi, petrol has gone up by 87 paise per litre and diesel by 91 paise per litre. Overall, fuel prices have risen by nearly ₹4 per litre in the last five days, following earlier increases that also affected CNG rates. The hike is being linked to rising crude oil prices in the global market, amid ongoing geopolitical tensions that have kept energy markets volatile. As a result, transportation and daily essential costs are expected to rise further. In cities like Bhopal, fuel rates have also increased significantly, with petrol crossing ₹110 per litre and diesel nearing ₹96 per litre. The price surge has triggered public concern, with many citizens blaming both global conditions and domestic policy decisions for the increased burden on common households.
