Congress leader Rahul Gandhi launched a sharp political attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing the government of weakening India’s economic structure and prioritizing corporate interests over common citizens. Speaking during a public address, Rahul Gandhi claimed that the country was heading toward a major “economic storm” and alleged that ordinary people would suffer the consequences in the coming days. Rahul Gandhi alleged that the economic framework built under the Modi government was centered around industrialists Gautam Adani and Mukesh Ambani. According to him, the existing economic model would eventually collapse, impacting farmers, laborers, unemployed youth, and middle-class families across the country. The Congress leader also accused the government of compromising national interests for the benefit of select corporate groups. In a controversial claim, Rahul Gandhi alleged that the Modi government had entered into understandings with the United States to protect business interests linked to Adani. He further claimed that legal cases against Adani in the US could eventually be withdrawn, alleging political influence behind such developments. During his speech, Rahul Gandhi criticized the Prime Minister for continuing foreign visits while people in the country were facing economic difficulties. He warned supporters that “difficult times” were ahead and said the current economic direction would lead to instability and hardship for citizens. The remarks are expected to intensify political confrontation between the Congress and the BJP ahead of upcoming elections. BJP leaders are likely to strongly counter Rahul Gandhi’s allegations, especially his remarks regarding foreign policy, economic policy, and corporate favoritism. The latest comments once again place the economy, unemployment, and corporate influence at the center of India’s political debate.
