    How the IPL could be losing INR 2400 crore per year due to a shorter tournament window

    Each IPL match is estimated to generate roughly ₹118 crore in media rights value, with revenues split evenly between the BCCI and franchises. By not hosting the additional 20 matches required in a complete double round-robin system, the league is effectively leaving ₹2400 crore on the table annually, and ₹1200 crore of which would have flowed directly to franchises.
