    IIT (BHU) students have achieved a major breakthrough by completing the institute’s first-ever silicon tape-out, taking a semiconductor chip from design to fabrication submission in just five months. Led largely by second-year Electronics Engineering students, the team developed a 64-point FFT Hardware Accelerator, demonstrating advanced chip-design capabilities and contributing to India’s growing semiconductor ecosystem. The achievement highlights the potential of undergraduate research and sets a new benchmark for student-led innovation in semiconductor technology.
