Azad claimed he has a trusted insider who regularly provides him with information about developments related to the controversy. However, political observers suggest that the crisis is rooted more in the TMC’s own internal factionalism than in external influence. Discontent over the leadership style and functioning of Abhishek Banerjee has reportedly been growing for some time, with several party leaders publicly expressing dissatisfaction. The recent statement by Kalyan Banerjee that “either Abhishek Banerjee or I will remain” has further highlighted the widening divisions within the party.
