A railway station witnessed scenes of chaos and destruction after a protest by examination candidates reportedly turned violent over demands related to a special train service. The unrest resulted in extensive damage to station property, shattered glass panels, and disruptions to normal operations before authorities eventually brought the situation under control. According to eyewitness accounts, a large group of students gathered near the railway tracks when a special examination train arrived at the station. Protesters allegedly moved onto the tracks and blocked the movement of the train, demanding improved transportation arrangements for candidates traveling for competitive examinations. As railway and administrative officials attempted to clear the tracks and restore normal operations, tensions escalated. Witnesses stated that some protesters began pelting stones, many of which were reportedly picked up from the ballast stones used along the railway tracks. The stone-pelting caused significant damage to station infrastructure, including cabins, glass windows, and nearby commercial establishments. Local shopkeepers described moments of panic as the violence intensified. One shop owner said he was forced to abandon his store and flee for safety when stones began flying across the platform area. After the situation calmed, he returned to find parts of his shop damaged and debris scattered throughout the premises. Visual evidence from the station showed broken glass, damaged structures, and railway personnel engaged in clearing stones and restoring the area. Cleanup operations were launched soon after law enforcement and railway authorities secured the station. Officials have since regained control of the situation, and the atmosphere at the station has returned to normal. However, the incident has once again highlighted growing concerns over transportation arrangements for examination candidates and the challenges faced by authorities in managing large-scale protests linked to recruitment and competitive exams. An investigation into the violence and property damage is expected to follow.
