    India’s daytime peak electricity demand touched a record 270.82 GW on May 21 amid severe heat wave conditions across the country, the Ministry of Power said. The government noted that electricity demand has broken previous records for four consecutive days as rising temperatures increased the use of cooling appliances such as air conditioners, coolers and fans.
