Watch: NASA astronaut captures rare Southern Aurora from space after solar flare

Filmed from a SpaceX Dragon spacecraft, the timelapse shows vibrant green aurora bands moving beneath the crew as charged particles from the Sun interacted with Earth's magnetic field. The display followed an M1.8 solar flare that NOAA said was associated with a coronal mass ejection potentially heading toward Earth.
