Jammu News: JMC Launches Rapid Pothole Repair Vehicle to Fix Road Hazards Within Minutes

The Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) has introduced a specialized rapid pothole repair vehicle aimed at improving road safety and ensuring faster maintenance of damaged roads across the city. The initiative, launched under the guidance of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Devansh Yadav, is designed to address potholes in real time and reduce the risk of road accidents, especially during the monsoon season. Speaking about the project, Chief Transport Officer Balkar Angural said that potholes often become a major cause of accidents, particularly for two-wheeler riders. Sudden road depressions and damaged patches can lead to serious mishaps, causing injuries and even loss of life. To tackle this issue proactively, JMC has deployed a cold emulsion pothole repair machine capable of fixing damaged road sections quickly and efficiently. According to officials, citizens can report potholes through the designated municipal grievance portal. Once a complaint is received, the response team is dispatched immediately. The vehicle carries all the necessary raw materials onboard, allowing repairs to begin without delay. Most potholes can reportedly be filled within 5 to 10 minutes, while complete repair operations generally take no more than 15 to 20 minutes. The machine is currently operational within the Jammu Municipal Corporation limits and is expected to handle around 10 to 15 complaints per day. Authorities believe the initiative will significantly improve road conditions, reduce accident risks, and enhance commuter safety. With the onset of the rainy season, the new system is expected to play a crucial role in maintaining road infrastructure and ensuring smoother travel for residents. The project reflects JMC’s focus on technology-driven urban services and faster grievance redressal for the people of Jammu.
