    Former West Bengal minister Ujjwal Biswas has been arrested over allegations of misappropriating disaster relief materials meant for public distribution. According to reports, he is accused of storing relief supplies intended for affected residents at his own residence while allegedly distributing substandard items to the public. The allegations sparked outrage in Krishnanagar, Nadia district, where an angry crowd gathered outside his house and staged a protest. Demonstrators reportedly hurled eggs at the former minister and created a commotion that lasted for nearly an hour. During the unrest, authorities seized relief materials allegedly stored at his residence. Police intervened to rescue Biswas from the agitated crowd and escorted him away from the scene before later taking him into custody. He is expected to be produced before a court today as legal proceedings move forward. The incident has intensified political controversy over the handling and distribution of disaster relief supplies in the state.
